Some Insight Insight
Well it's obvious now that any negotiations on keeping the two popular St. Louis TV stations available to Quincy viewers has ended. KETC PBS and KPLR will disappear from the Insight cable lineup any time now, despite plenty of opposition from future former Insight customers.
At one point in August, the mayor and the GM of Insight promised to explore all alternatives to see what they could do to keep these channels available. I think most of us would at least like to know that they tried. So, what were the possible alternatives they came up with?
Oh well, at least subscribers will be subdued with the new addition of Great American Country on channel 27. Yeh. Look for a rate hike announcement at the first of the year to go along with these positive developments.

Come on. You know as well as I that the dog and pony show put on by the Insight guy was just that. The mayor made his splash knowing it was nothing more than that and got the guy to address the Alderman. Everyone felt warm and fuzzy and we got Cardinal baseball till the end of the season. Now Insight is going to go ahead with its original plan. The concern now is that we don't have the NFL Network and won't be able to get all the NFL games.
DISH NETWORK
'nough said !
I went that path post having to run around town to find the ALABAMA game. Insight didn't let us buy the ESPN game plan here--but did offer it everywhere else.
2 plus years and I still LOVE DISH network !

How much is the Dish network? Do the jerk you over after you pay the start-up rate for a few months?
I think we are $65 a month ( but some of that is the ESPN game plans I get )
Zero jerk around !
Local stations of fox, cbs, nbc --Chitown ABC ( woot woot )
You get a DDR ( aka a TIVO ) for like $2 a month and they have the single BEST Customer service known to man .
I give it 24 looter beers as a rating
( import looted beers -- not OE 800 )
There was once a TIME last year where BAMA was listed on my game plan and I had a blank screen ---
Some Lil Girl in Colorado ( yes an AMERICAN) was on the phone and POOF - I saw Brodie with in 5 mins !
p.s. : BAMA won that game
I really should get paid by DISH b/c I really like them as a company !
I moved from DirectV to Dish two years ago and have never been sorry. The main reason I moved, DirectV has no plans to add local channels anytime. Never, nada, no way, and I had to carry a bottom feeder cable program in order to have the locals. The locals are included in the Dish packages and I think they start in the $30.00 range. The more you add, the more you lay out.
The mayor was on the news last night saying this was a suprise and he'll do something about it.
My ABC from Chicago is great !
See with the I.diots O.ut W.alking A.round GHETTO ABC -Quincy can't pick it up with bunny ears . So you can write the station and dish and get a federal waiver.
I watch Chicago ABC news every day post the BBC World report .
And ESPN game plans ROXXOR your SOXXORS and PWN !
If I want my teams Football or hoops I got it . Same way with the NFL or MLB guys .$100 is cheap if you want to see your team play !
I also have the Chicago ABC, Denver ABC, and a couple of Fox channels. Hard to beat the service. Just wonder how many more people will drop the fine cable service now, and go to one of the dish options?? Talk about shooting yourself in the foot....
Just dumped my Insight today. Signed up for DISH from Dish Pronto. Was the best deal I could find after looking all day. Here's what I got for $45 a month (the same as Insight cable):
-All the hardware for 3 tvs
-Free installation
-Free DVRs (like Tivo) for 2 of my 3 tvs.
-120 tv channels
-all local channels
-All of the SIRIUS satellite radio music channels
-Bunch of other music channels
-3 months free premium movie channels
Again for the same price my cable was. I'm really angry at myself for not looking in to this before!
The key is become an ALABAMA fan then go through the last 5 years ....
You too will find DISH network real fast !
There are few companies that get a close to zero in complaints -- DISH is one of them
Also an FYI you can roll your SBC , cingular , dsl, and dish into one package and save around $75 a month by a rolled up one bill .

Thanks for the link, I am in the process of getting hooked up!
Also, thanks to Mayor Spring and the city council for all the time & effort they put into looking into the cable situation! They didn't have to do that at all, but thanks to them for helping greatly with a community concern (wouldn't have got to see Cards victory parade if it wasn't for them!)
